When the New Year arrives, everyone frantically tries to come up with resolutions that they try and keep but forget about 5 days later. Not me. My new years resolution was to get to my target weight.
Dieting I hear you say - the standard New Years Resolution. I've been a Yo Yo dieter for over 10 years, losing weight here and there, trying every diet under the sun and failing miserably.
But this time round i'm fired up. Its the right time to diet - no big parties or family get togethers, no weekends away, and i'm about to go into a busy period at work. I shopped around for diets, thinking about past experiences and what has or hasn't worked.
With weight watchers and slimming world I put on half a stone - the calorie intake was too high and it was easy to cheat. Herbal life and slim fast made me ill. The cambridge diet worked miracles, but was hard to maintain.
Excercise I hear you shout. Yes, you are right. This was my mistake last time round. I hate the gym and when I finish work I just want to go home. Solution - an excercise bike and some fellow dieters.
So first weigh in - last monday. Its still a stone lighter than when I first did Cambridge 15 months ago, but still, not a good weight.
I just had my week 1 weigh in - 8lbs down! Great first week. I did aquatone, cycling, power walking - and it all fitted into my already hectic schedule. I feel damn good.
Bring on 2009, and a bit of dieting.
